Confirming and updating a pin

Whether a point on the map is still accurate is reported by the person who goes there. In Qchu this is called updating the pin, and it has one condition: you have to be near it.

Pin detail with two buttons — Pin detail. While you are far away the right button reads **Pine yakın değilsin** (you are not near the pin); within 150 metres the update opens.

The 150 metre rule

Open the pin detail. If the right hand button reads Pin içeriğini güncelle (update pin content), you are close enough. If you are far away the same button reads Pine yakın değilsin and cannot be pressed. The limit is 150 metres; as you get closer the app tells you how far away you are and that you can now evaluate it.

The rule is not arbitrary: only someone looking at the bowl knows whether it is full or empty. An update made from a distance fills the map with wrong information.

Which pins can be updated

Su & Mama and Barınak pins can be updated. These are points that stay in place and change state.
Köpek and Kedi pins cannot. A living animal does not fit into a form; there the button reads Yardım etmek istiyorum (I want to help) and opens the pin chat instead.

What the form asks

For a water and food point, water and food fullness are asked separately: Dolu, Yarım, Boş. If nothing changed you can say Değişmedi (unchanged). For a shelter the first question is whether it is still there: Gördüm, duruyor (I saw it, still there) or Göremedim (could not find it). You can also complete fields that were left empty. Finish with Güncellemeyi Gönder (send update).

Who can update

Any signed in user can. It does not matter who added the pin, and you can update your own. There is no cooldown, so you can update again the next time you pass by. If you are not signed in the button reads Güncellemek için giriş yap (sign in to update).

Where updates show up

The pin detail shows the latest reported state, when it was reported and how many people contributed. The pin's Değişiklik geçmişi (change history) screen lists every update, newest first; if there are none yet it shows the date of the first report.

Every pin also has a chat, and joining it does not require being nearby. Even from a distance you can use Sohbet to join the conversation. The distance rule applies only to content updates.
